Leading sustainable innovation in textiles with people at the core
Nova Fides is a family textile company focused on people and sustainability, managing every phase of fabric production from raw materials to the finished product. Production flexibility ensures high customization while combining economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
Fabric Samples and Production
The production facility, Paola Textile (PTX), handles samples and some production processes using mainly renewable energy from a photovoltaic system.
Yarn and Felt Samples
The automatic yarn archive stores a wide range of colors and materials. For regenerated fibers, the dying process is skipped, and colors are achieved by mixing fibers of different hues until the desired shade is obtained.
Quality Control
An in-house laboratory and quality control team ensure products meet high standards. Testing includes physical and chemical qualities, dimensional stability, color fastness, pH levels, and tensile strength.
Close the Loop
Since 2011, Nova Fides has been recycling used clothing returned to major brands. Materials are classified and repurposed, ensuring minimal waste. Scraps not suitable for fashion are redirected to other sectors.
Suppliers and Traceability
All production steps are managed within the Prato textile district, ensuring traceability and adherence to 4 Sustainability protocols for minimal environmental and social impact.
Sustainable Packaging
All packaging is recyclable or reusable. Samples are sent in customizable cardboard boxes, and textiles are wrapped in certified recycled plastic.
Off-cut Management
Production scraps are recycled to create new products, ensuring even the smallest waste is utilized effectively.
Stock Management
Unsold textiles are reintroduced to the market or recycled, never discarded. This approach supports small brands and creative start-ups
Raw Material Selection
Nova Fides uses 65% certified recycled or regenerated materials and continually researches new, sustainable raw materials. The focus is on quality, durability, and minimizing environmental impact. Virgin materials are carefully sourced with necessary certifications.
Innovative Products
An example is La Lana Moretta, made from virgin sheep fibers with a natural grey color that requires no dyeing, highlighting the company’s innovative approach to sustainability.
Sustainability Definition
For Nova Fides, sustainability integrates economic, social, and environmental aspects to create long-term value. This includes promoting intergenerational equity, conserving environmental balance, and maintaining ethical integrity.
Investments and Growth
Nova Fides invests in optimizing production processes, purchasing efficient machinery, and reducing resource use. This commitment extends to environmental responsibility and societal contributions.
